ABOUT OAK CITY PHYSICAL THERAPY
One-on-One Care. Rooted in Raleigh.
Oak City Physical Therapy was created to give patients more time, more attention, and direct one-on-one care with an experienced Doctor of Physical Therapy—while still allowing them to use their insurance.
WHY WE STARTED
We Built the Kind of Physical Therapy Practice We Would Want for Our Own Families
Oak City Physical Therapy was founded around a simple idea: patients deserve enough time, consistent attention, and a plan built around the individual—not a rushed or standardized experience.
More Time With Your Therapist
Every appointment is one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy. There are no aides, no handoffs, and no splitting attention between multiple patients.
Care Built Around the Individual
Your treatment plan is based on your history, goals, examination findings, and response—not simply the diagnosis written on a referral.
Quality Care Without Giving Up Insurance
We wanted patients to receive personalized, high-quality care without feeling that they had to choose between one-on-one treatment and using their insurance benefits.
WHAT MAKES OAK CITY DIFFERENT
Small Practice. Experienced Care. Personal Attention.
Locally Owned
Built and operated by Raleigh-area physical therapists who live, work, and care about the community we serve.
One-on-One, Every Visit
You work directly with your physical therapist throughout every appointment—no aides, no handoffs, and no split attention.
Experienced, Consistent Care
You see the same experienced therapist throughout your plan of care, keeping treatment personal, organized, and consistent.
Built Around the Individual
We intentionally keep patient volume lower so we can listen, educate, and build care around the person—not a visit quota.
MEET THE FOUNDERS
Experienced Clinicians With a Shared Vision for Better Care
Oak City Physical Therapy was founded by Trevor Lewis and DJ Redmond, two physical therapists who share a commitment to individualized care, progressive rehabilitation, and helping patients return to the lives they want to lead.
CO-FOUNDER & PHYSICAL THERAPIST
Trevor Lewis, PT, DPT, COMT, CREx
Trevor brings more than a decade of orthopedic rehabilitation experience and a treatment style that combines hands-on care, progressive strengthening, movement retraining, and clear patient education.

Trevor graduated from Daemen College in Buffalo, New York, in 2013 and has spent more than a decade treating patients in a wide range of outpatient and rehabilitation settings.
Early in his career, he worked as a travel physical therapist, an experience that exposed him to different communities, clinical environments, and approaches to patient care before he ultimately made the Raleigh area home. That variety helped shape his belief that effective physical therapy should never feel standardized or rushed—every patient brings a different history, lifestyle, and reason for wanting to move better.
Trevor has pursued extensive advanced training in orthopedic manual therapy and resistance exercise and holds certifications as a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist and Certified Resistance Exercise Specialist.
He is also trained in dry needling, blood flow restriction training, kinesiotaping, cupping, vestibular rehabilitation, and the treatment of complex musculoskeletal conditions.
His treatment style blends hands-on care, progressive strengthening, movement retraining, and clear education so patients understand not only what they are doing, but why it matters.
Trevor especially enjoys working with active adults, people recovering from surgery, patients with persistent pain, and individuals who want to return to exercise, recreation, work, or everyday life with greater confidence.
CO-FOUNDER & PHYSICAL THERAPIST
DJ Redmond, PT, DPT, CSCS
DJ’s background in strength and conditioning strongly influences his approach to rehabilitation, with an emphasis on rebuilding capacity, confidence, and readiness for work, exercise, and sport.

DJ is a Raleigh native who graduated from Campbell University in Buies Creek, North Carolina, in 2019. Growing up in the area gives him a personal connection to the community Oak City Physical Therapy was created to serve.
His background in strength and conditioning has strongly influenced the way he approaches rehabilitation: treatment should not stop when pain decreases, but should help people rebuild the strength, capacity, and confidence needed to return fully to work, exercise, sports, and everyday life.
DJ became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association in 2019.
He has also completed extensive training in dry needling and manual therapy through organizations including Double E, the Institute of Clinical Excellence, Master of Dry Needling, Evidence in Motion, and the American Academy of Spinal Manipulation.
This combination of orthopedic rehabilitation, manual therapy, and performance-based training allows him to work effectively with a wide range of patients—from people recovering after surgery to athletes and active adults trying to return to a higher level of performance.
DJ’s treatment style is practical, collaborative, and goal-oriented. He takes time to explain the plan, track progress, and ensure that treatment carries over into the activities that matter outside the clinic.
OUR SHARED PHILOSOPHY
Care Should Help You Build Confidence Beyond the Clinic
Relief matters, but lasting progress requires more than temporary symptom reduction. Our goal is to help you understand your body, build physical capacity, and become less dependent on treatment over time.
Understand the Person
We look beyond the diagnosis to understand your history, goals, lifestyle, and the specific activities you want to regain.
Build Strength and Capacity
Rehabilitation should progressively prepare your body for real-world demands—not only help you feel better during the visit.
Support Long-Term Independence
We want you to leave therapy with the knowledge, confidence, and physical ability to manage successfully on your own.
